Leah Songer received her Bachelor’s in Speech & Hearing Science and her Master’s in Speech Pathology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was a Traumatic Brain Injury Fellow during her graduate program at UIUC. She has worked as a pediatric speech-language pathologist since 2006 in a variety of clinical settings including home health, private practice, public school, adult inpatient and pediatric outpatient hospital. She is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and the American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology (AAPSPA). Leah’s extensive experience with diagnosis and treatment of speech-language and feeding disorders includes apraxia of speech, articulation/phonological disorder, stuttering, receptive-expressive language disorder, pragmatic language disorder and feeding disturbance/dysphagia. Having worked with hundreds of families, Leah has facilitated skills development for children with a variety of diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Epilepsy and Sensory Processing Disorder.

Leah is married and has two children. She enjoys running/hiking, exploring restaurants in the city, and participating/volunteering in her neighborhood and community events.
